Angel Armies

Monday, January 28, 2013

Isaiah 52:12 For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight; For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Every now and then I have to remind myself of Who it is that is my shield and protection, the One who goes before me into every situation and the One who protects me from behind. The last few days I have had this song and video on my heart. It speaks so vividly of how God goes before us and protects us from the rear and the hosts of angels that He has encompassed around each of us.

We can't see into the spirit realm to visually experience the reality of those that encompass us with their swords of protection and the God who is the captain of the host, but by faith we understand through the word of God that it is true and real; there are angels encamped around each of us and God commands them to bear us up in their hands so we do not dash our foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:11, 12 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

In 2 Kings 6:8-17 we read of the story of Elisha and his servant that were surrounded by enemy armies and when the young servant was afraid and wondering what they would do to get out of that dangerous situation, Elisha prayed and asked the LORD to open the eyes of the young man so he could see the angel armies gathered around them to protect them. He said their were more with them than against them.

2 Kings 6:15-17 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

In Hebrews 1:14 the Word says that angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister to those who will inherit salvation.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Exodus 23:20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. “Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. “But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. “For My Angel will go before you and bring you into the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.

God has placed angels in our lives to minister for us when we need their help. He has sent them out to do His word; to act on our behalf as we need them.

Psalm 103:20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.

Angels bless the Lord through doing His word. They are strong and mighty and exercise their ability to protect through hearing and doing His word. As we speak forth His word they are commissioned to work on our behalf.

It may seem to you that in your situation you are alone; that there is no one to help you. But have you remembered that it is God that goes before you into every situation and covers You with His hand of protection. Have you considered the angels that He has placed around you as His army to fight for you and give you protection? You are not alone! All of heaven is with you. Do not be afraid to go into the battle for God has given you His protection and provision. He has given you the victory!

Father, I thank You this morning for the hosts of angels that You have commissioned to work for Your people. I thank You for sending them out at the voice of Your word to do Your work. Thank You for sending them before us and behind us and around us. You have given us the victory through Your interaction in our lives. Thank You for protecting us from the evil one and for granting us Your salvation. May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened to know all that You have provided for us as Your children. Show us in each situation what we are dealing with and how to access the provision that You have made for us. May Your angels give help as it is needed to each of the heirs of Your salvation! Thank You, Father! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

There have been times in my life when I have struggled with overwhelming fear. My brain could hardly function but the children's songs, "angels watching over me" and "safe am I" get stuck in my head. These songs calm me and allow me to get a hold of my emotions. The simple truths we learn as children can and should guide our adult lives! God and his angels are always with us no matter what the situation!

The Angel of the Lord always appeared. right on schedule. He is, as He says, in the OT the Angel appearance of Christ, and the One who sends those to protect in the NT. "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
How so many will get off of target discussing angels and whereabouts, guardians, and mighty warriors, but Christ is revealed, as the One, that watches guard as in Exodus.
Such a topic, Avanell, of great interest to many. If you are not kept busy with encounters and testimonies, I will be surprised. emoticon
Thankk you for trodding where others do not dare. :)
