Tastes are changing.

Monday, January 28, 2013

So I think it's kinda funny how when you start to really change your eating habits your taste buds changes. For example I used to absolutely hate bananas and apples, now I love them, same with spinach.

It also means that foods I used to love, I don't really care for anymore. For example I used to love a heaping bowl of vanilla ice cream, with a brownie, hot fudge and heath topping. I had a bowl yesterday and the vanilla ice cream by itself tasted soo amazing I started to regret the fudge and heath topping I had put on. I also used to love campbell's cream of mushroom soup.. well now it just doesn't taste as good as I remember.

What my body is trying to tell me is that the bananas and apples are sooo much better for me than the other stuff. I'm even starting to crave the healthy food again. Mind you this is a very lucrative process because if I started eathing more junk than healthy stuff my taste buds would change back.

I understnad this well... I cut back on sodium sometime last year and now, if I have food at restraunts, I can easily taste the amount of salt they use. It's gross to me now, same with sodas! Now if only cake would be just as merciful lol.

Congratulations on that! Your tastes do definitely change, slowly but surely you probably won't like things as sweet as you used to or as salty. Sweet and salty things will still taste good, but it takes less to be yummy. All in all I think it's very satisfying and helpful in the long term.
