Little Dusty

Monday, January 28, 2013

So I am trying again with another barn cat. This one was younger when we brought it home. He's a lot more friendlier & calmer than the last barn cat kitten. Still goes at the other cat but I'm really hoping it's kitten play. The last cat really wanted to dominate & that was the problem there. As well, the previous cat started to growl at people.

Dusty will get tense in a new situation when you pick him up but he will burrow into you until he relaxes. And he purrs A LOT. You start talking to him, he purrs. You pet him, he purrs. Purr, purr, purr, purr, purr. And he's LOUD! If he's lying on the back of the couch behind your head, you will have a hard time listening to the tv.

Dusty ~4 months

The vet is calling him a "cream tabby". He has striping on his legs and tail but not his body.

Dusty does try to play with Shadow, the older black cat. Shadow is not amused. We got an automatic laser toy and it's funny to see them chase it when we turn it on.

Very pretty kitten. Hope he adjusts to living with you and your other cat.

When I was a child we used to have house cats and barn cats. My father would get annoyed when I brought the barn cats into the house and tamed them. He needed them in the barn to keep the mice away.

Enjoy Dusty and his purring.

I have 2 rescued cats not from the barn but from the woods. While both were friendly and sweet when they were kittens, one cat hisses at everything but me now.
