Keeping Motivated

Monday, January 28, 2013

I recognize this feeling .. too many days in a row at the gym ... having 2 days off and never wanting to go back ... ugh ...

I know the best answer is to get back on that horse .. my legs are feeling better, however I am feeling lazy .. there are multitudes of excuses going through my head .. too much snow .. it will be too cold .. I have too much housework .. I am just plain tired ... I need to get dinner ready...

The list can go on and on .. I know I have to counteract that with .. it's only an hour of my life and think of how much better I will feel for having going ... its the getting there that is the hardest!

Let's hope that sense will win! I must fight to keep on this roll I am on with exercise!

It does get easier over time. I used to make excuses to take a day off a little too often. Now I don't feel right when I take one off, like yesterday even though I needed one day to rest. I will enjoy going back today. It helps to mix things up a little. I recently added swimming to my routine, starting off slowly with 12 laps every other day. I want to work up to more because it is so refreshing and I think it will be especially good for my arms. You are doing great.

It is easy to make excuses but overcoming them gives you a great sense of accomplishment. Been there done that.
