The Rain in Spain Falls Mainly on My Plans

Monday, January 28, 2013

Mother Nature has put a kink in my plans for today. I was going to get in an early swim, but the timing of the sleet and freezing rain make it probably not the best idea. So, instead of getting myself bent out of shape, I looked at the pool schedule for school (yay! I am so excited to be on campus again!) and saw that they are open tonight from 9-10:30. Right after my class - perfect timing! So I think I'm going to be a late-night swimmer tonight and get in my mile after class.

After the initial feeling of disappointment passed, it was kind of neat to try to figure out where I could fit a swim into the day when my first plan didn't work out.

Yesterday was a pretty successful errand-running day. I found some great winter running stuff for 30% off - really nice running gloves, super-warm mittens, and a neck gaiter for $6! I was hesitant to spend the money (even with the 30% it was still a little pricey), but I reminded myself that I am going to be runner for life! and that these things would help me run in the cold for years to come. Didn't seem so expensive when I put it that way.

- lots of water
- keep my goals in check
- get in a swim!

Just a yucky morning here in western PA. Have a great back to school as an adult day.

Good for you on fitting in that late night swim and congrats on the scoring warm running gear on sale.
