I am on a virtual bear hunt.
Do you have a Bear Encounter story? I would love to hear it! Please send it to me by SparkMail!

Hey New Hampshire Sparkers!
My husband John and I will be giving presentations on Aware of the Bear at 2 different locations on February 16th. 2 pm at the Community Hall at the VFW in Winchester, NH-sponsored by the Conant Library.
7 pm at the Baldwin Community Hall at Fox Forest in Hillsborough, NH-sponsored by the Friends of Fox Forest.
Hope to see you there! Bring your bear stories! There will be a discussion after the presentation. If any Sparkers will be making it to the talks, please send me a SparkMail!
I want to make sure and greet you there! Iíve never personally met a Spark Person before. Please come and change that for me~

When I was growing up in central NY we used to go on camping trips to Old Forge in the Adirondacks and for entertainment we would pile in the car and go to the dumps (with about 50 other families) and watch the bears dig through the trash for food. Yep, it was fun and YES we know it was dangerous.

I love bears and they are so misunderstood! I hate it when people make them "garbage bears" and they are put down. The Rural district is trying to stop that problem and I hope it works. They are not going to allow garbage out the night before and people are suppose to invest in Bear Proof containers.

I love the bears we see very few in Maine where we are. We took a trip to Montana Glacier National park and saw grizzlies and black bear, oh it was exciting to see them------From a distance. emoticon emoticon emoticon

They like to come in our back yard and attack our bird feeders but I have never had the pleasure of seeing them up close unfortunately.

Sorry, don't have any good bear stories. But they are fun to watch, from a distance...

Hiking in the Smokies, we have seen bears. Once, hiking with my DH, we saw one about 50 feet ahead sitting on a log at the edge of the trail. We watched and waited, but he didn't want to budge and was becoming curious about us. We retreated and headed back the way we came.
