The shopping cart

Thursday, April 19, 2007

Today I went grossery shopping. It is silly, I know, But I was observing other people's carts e the difference. My stuff was primarely fresh veggies and fruits, and lots of fat free, whole grain things. No pizzas, frozen snacks, fattening stuff. It felt good. The change with Spark people is not only my weight, it is also in several other areas of my life. I am really enjoying this.

I noticed the same thing the other day!! I was walking down the aisle at walmart getting some groceries, I had low fat, low sodium, fresh this and that, etc. And this mom in front of me had children with her and enough preservatives and high fructose corn syrup to feed the 82nd airborne for 2 years! Really makes a person think doesn't it?

As for me this weekend I'm going to be hunting up some farmers markets and seeing what's available organic that way.

I can relate to this one! I've noticed that I do the same thing. I'll peak at someone's cart or watch what they are putting on the conveyor belt. It makes me proud of the all the healthy food items I have in my cart. I know the feeling...and no, it's not silly at all.

Either that or we are both silly. I bet a lot of people do that too.

Oh yes, thanks for the "Long Walk Home" suggestion on the movie lover's blog. That looks like a good movie with Whoopi and Sissy Spacek. I went online and watched the preview for it. Thanks for posting.

Hi William I see you post on the bookworms. So simple hi.
I enjoyed your blog. I have always have more fruit and fresh veggies
in my cart.
And then my husbands goes to the store and gets whatever he wants it makes me a little upset.
I'm happy you can stick to it.

LOL, sparkpeople has got me looking at what other people buy too. I find myself getting a wee bit critical of their choices. Sounds like you're on a great path, keep up the good work...di
