Blast it all!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I just tried an easy 1.5 miles tonight and felt great... until I sat down for dinner. Getting up again was excruciating. Looks like another go with the icing, stretching and cross training for awhile. I can't imagine I'll be doing a half before summer. Craptastic!

Thanks. I've already seen my doctor. I don't think I have a heel spur... yet. Just need to get lighter, keep cross training, stretching, icing and all that good stuff. My next step was to look into orthotics and new shoes. I can also jump back into PT at any time. I have pretty good health insurance.

Go see a podiatrist and see what they suggest. My friend got shoes or orthotics that allowed her to run with plantar fasciitis when she did her Tri a few years back. You don't need to lose all hope, you just need to go about it differently. So call your doctor, get a referral and get this checked out if you are serious about these races, then figure out a realistic training and race schedule and do it.
