A Rainy day

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Something unusual but not uncommon-we had rain early this morning
and it turned to ice just before church services started. I kind of skated
across the street. Pastor even commented on being careful as we left.
I am not sure now much rain we had-maybe 1/4 of an inch. It did warm
up later but stayed cloudy all day. Now we have dense fog. If the old
tales hold true, we could have more precipitation in 3 days, 3 weeks
or 3 months. I will make the calendar and see what happens in April.
Because it was so cloudy and the lights in the barn are dim, I will
take pics of the babies when the sun is shining.
At DH's request we had fried chicken, baked potatoes and scalloped
corn for supper. DS2 and his GF came and we had fun catching up
on the weekend activities. I had 6 cinnamon rolls that had lingered
so I made them into a bread pudding. It seemed a shame to waste them
Little man came home from seeing his GF and we finally have all the
vehicles back to the proper owners. I need to leave the house early
as DD has a meeting to go to before school. I will walk the GC to school-
just 2 short blocks. I'll have a good start on my 10K steps.
DS's lunch was made and delivered so I will call it a day.
Hope everyone had a great Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and
have an awesome week! HUGS!

I'm SO impressed with the 10K steps. And stay safe in that changeable weather.
We had sleet yesterday and they're calling for 70's tomorrow!

We stayed slick all day and all the churches called off services. Good day to stay home and catch up on reading! Hugs!

Its slick out here it looks like and it rained and was really icey yesterday, people were gingerly walking and cars were going by very slow, glad you got home safely, not fun on icey days. It looks icy out now but not sure its hard to tell, its very foggy.

It's so warm outside right now! I was talking to a friend of my mine on the phone last night (about an hour south of where I am) and they were having Thunder Snow (and I was really jealous! That is so cool when it happens.) We have a couple of inches of wet snow and some ice but it's supposed to be 40 tomorrow so how long can it last?

A friend of mine described this winter as "one week on, one week off." I think she's right. It's amazing to think about where we were one week ago.

    Looking forward to goat photos!!

Stay safe! Ice can be a really dangerous problem. We've had rain and now it's getting really windy. The temperatures are rising so we went from ice Friday to severe thunderstorms and wind and 68 degrees predicted for Tuesday afternoon/evening. I just wish it would decide what it's doing (lol). Stay safe.

Glad to hear that you made it home from Church safely. It's starting to snow lightly here now. We aren't suppose to get much snow, just colder temperatures.
