So life carries on. My friend who had the stroke was released from the hospital on Friday and is finally back home with his family, though he is in for a long recovery still. My daughter is still staying there to help manage the kids for the time being, since he can't be home alone yet.
I took my daughter and her Maid of Honor to our very first Bridal Expo together, and it was really great. The three of us got lots of ideas and connected with a few cool vendors, watched a fashion show and decided it was time for a serious pow wow about the reception venue and to cater vs not, and blah blah blah! So we sat down with my hubby and the groom today and hammered a few things out, and went for a drive out to a potential venue to check it out. The booking process for this particular place is somewhat elaborate because it's beautiful and very flexible as well as inexpensive! So it's pretty popular, and that means we need to compete in a lottery to get it.
Afterwards, my husband and I attended the "holiday party" for the company I now work for. Pretty swank door prizes, I must say! We didn't take anything home, but the casino night was popular enough that we may be winning something when I get to work tomorrow, we'll see! At any rate, we did pretty well about staying on plan for the FOOD we ate, but I didn't even bother to log yesterday because I know for a FACT that I totally blew my carb count out of the water with a glass of wine, two glasses of champagne and a Rye & (diet) coke...and potatoes au gratin. ;)
Oh well. Today's been different day, I kinda ran on coffee until we finally went for dinner at Shari's around 4:30 like senior citizens. I had pot roast with extra veggies instead of potatoes, and broccoli cheddar soup. So did the lady on oxygen at the next table who appeared not a day younger than her probable 97 years. MEH. I'm TIRED today. All the walking from the expo followed by getting dolled up and drinking too much last night has left me WIPED OUT.
Is it bedtime yet? Nope. 8:10pm. Stupid West Coast. SIGH. Back to work tomorrow.
