Nap & Grandkids Sleepover

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I made breakfast for church this morning. I was so full, that when I got home I was more tired than hungry, so I laid down and took a 2 hour nap. When I got up my daughter and grandson were here -- she had brought him for a sleepover. I had a nice conversation with her before she left. I played with my grandson for a little before I laid him down for his nap.

While he was napping I walked on the treadmill for 45 min.

My son brought over his daughters @7:00. We played for awhile, read some stories, then I tucked them into bed. I will have all of them until tomorrow night. emoticon emoticon

I live to far away from my Grands, but I do remember how joyful it was to have the oldest of my grands stay over. Love them while you can, cause they grow and move! LOL

Glad you got a nap -- I am learning to recognize when I need to rest instead of eat!! And it sounds like fun to have the grandkids over. Not too hectic with all of them, I guess?

I took my grandkids to a Children's Theater play at Lakewood Cultural Center on Saturday -- Jack & the Beanstalk. Fun! Then we met hubby for frozen yogurt, came back to the house to play "store" for a bit, then took them home. I gave granddaughter the crocheted sweater/skirt/hat I made for her American Girl doll. She was thrilled! Grandson got a rocket (he & FarFar will launch it when the weather clears again). We will plan a sleepover in early March for sure (have tickets to Arvada Center's Children's Theater production of "No Dogs Allowed"). It is definitely a blessing to have them close enough for visits! My other 2 are a 12-dr car drive away ...

Sounds like a great day! You are so smart to take advantage of your grandkids while you can. When my dad died, we realized each of his grandkids had special feelings toward him because of the attention he paid them. I had similar relationships with all my grandparents. We are more important than we know to that next generation!

And yes.... we are looking for a house which is equidistant between two of our three far-flung children! The son furthest away flies to see us anyway!

My 11 year old granddaughter, who lives near us, will not spend the night as she is afraid for some reason. Even when she was little she would not and I don't think she goes to sleep overs with her friends. Your children are very fortunate.

Sleepovers with grandchildren must be tons of fun. Mine are teenagers now, so, no more sleepovers. Miss those. Enjoy while they are young!

Nothing better than making memories with the Grands.
