Crazy Weather & Answering Some Questions....

Sunday, January 27, 2013

OK, so they are calling for freezing rain in the AM here. That saddens me b/c I only have a ride to and from Curves for early morning. I won't be able to go later in the day! Alas this crazy weather! So, freezing rain in the AM, then 50 as a high, then cold at night, then 63 for a high on Tuesay and 70 for Wed., then cold again with snow predicted for Friday! We have all 4 seasons in 1 week! Ah! Can't change it, so don't complain.

Today I did a few walking videoes and the SP 8 minute cardio interval video. I didn't put forth my full effort, but kept moving. Last night I woke up with a blood sugar of 45. My doctor wants mine to be between 90 and 150. I was forced to drink some Coke. Then I woke up this morning and it was only 66. So, I drank a little more Coke and had a granola bar. Then, my blood sugar was up to 395 which is real bad. I felt really bad too. But, the workout must go on... I'm back to a normal 130 now. But, I must say these roller coaster blood sugars make me feel like I worked out for 9 hours with no breaks! Whew! I managed 50 minutes of cardio which ain't my norm, but it is better than nothing.

As for my cruise.... 7 Days starting March 2 and going to Cozumel (sp?), Belize (sp?), Honduras, and Coasta Maya. I may not know how to spell my destinations, but am looking forward to it and looking forward to being at least a size smaller by then! If I can keep up my pound a week loss I'll be down about 6 more pounds! I always buy a charm from every where I go, so that is all I'll shop for. I already have 1 from Cozumel, so don't need to shop for anything, but a gift for my cousin who turns 5 in March. I always look for something for my nephew too. I want to try parasailing and zip lining. Hope I keep the nerve! Remember, I'm blind, so these things seem daunting!

Hoping for no freezing rain! Weather has kept me from Curves for too long now! Plus, I have my volunteer support group tomorrow AM. They always helpehelp me as much as I help them. Oh, I volunteer and am the so-called professional of the group! HeeHee! I know some info is old hat to many of my long time Spark friends, but I'm making new friends every day with the BLC! Goodnight to all my buds!

Your cruise sounds so wonderful as I am sittng here looking out my window watching it snow like the devil, and has mounted to 2-3 inches so far. Weather man says it is suppose to warm up, and this couuld change to freezing rain. I don't blame you for being anxious for that trip.
As for the parasailing and zip lining - I don't think so, especially at my age. Don't forget to get photos for us. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hope you had a clear morning! I don't know how much fun zip lining would be but para-sailing is AWESOME!!! You will love it.

Hmmm. I don't know that parasailing or zip lining is any less daunting when not blind! It sounds like a lovely trip!

Melissa, I'm with Cyndie on the parasailing and zip lining. Both are extremely daunting to me and I have my sight. And for me it's not an age thing either because when I was younger I wouldn't do it either. Let me know if you do either or both. You're a brave woman, Melissa.

The cruise sounds like a great itinerary. It'll be here before you know it.

Have a good week.

Maria

That cruise sounds fantastic! Cozumel is awesome for shopping - great vanilla and silver. ! I would be petrified on a zip line- I can't stand heights and dropping fast!
You are very brave!

The weather in Connecticut is going to be odd this week also. Tomorrow a little bit of everything then the rest of the week the temps are rising and rain. Yuck!!!

I have thought of para-sailing, but have never gone anywhere to do it. Zip lining, not so much.

Congrats on the weight loss!!!!

You are amazing!!!

I AM NOT BLIND, BUT PAPRASAILING AND ZIP LINING SEEM DAUNTING TO ME. MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE I'M OLD:)
