The Lucky '13: BLC 17 WUB.1

Sunday, January 27, 2013

For those who have just met me on here, I'm tracking month long goals and year long goals on this blog.

Year Long Goals

1. Run 24 races between 1 mile (up to 12) 5k (up to 10) 10k (up to 3) and a half marathon (at least 1) (at least 3 official races)
Mile: {13:26} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
5k: {50:21} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
10k: {} {}
Half: {}

2. Drink soda only if you ran more miles than you're drinking in ounces.
Soda count: 0
Miles count: 5.7

3. Read Utmost.Org each day
I've really failed at this, and my spiritual life has taken a plummet as of recent. Pray for me in this area of my life if you can that God can even use this for good. Faith and trust are too areas I've struggled in right now.

4. Do a design activity each day
I do them quite often, not every day but I have been toying with illustrator and hand drawn type more as of recent.

January Goals

1. Drink 8 cups of water a day
Pretty sure I've done this!

2. Bring lunch to work 3/5 days
This Sunday was the first time this year I've bought food instead of taking it to work.

3. Do 10 minutes of exercise per day
Done, even during work I'm running to the stock room, climbing escalator stairs, walking the store ect... I'm counting all that!

4. Count Calories - Don't go over 1800 - 2500.

    Faith and trust are built in tough times- so maybe you are being taught these lessons while you struggle? It's hard to find time for quiet times, but keep trying. If Utmost isn't doing it for you, maybe try something else. The Holy Spirit reveals truths as we read the Bible, so that's always a great place to start. Utmost for his highest is a fabulous devotional, but if it doesn't get you jazzed or speak to you where you are at the moment, look for something else for now and go back to that when you are ready. :)

And YAY for illustrator. That programme makes my life joyful. No lies.

    I love your soda rule, haha. I gave up soda almost two years ago, crazy!

    looks like, even with less time for running, you already have lots of physical activity incorporated into your day! That's awesome! :D

I like your goals, they seem managable, though I would not be so brave on the races. I'd just like to get my mile time under maybe 12:59 by the end of this BLC, :P

    Pretty soon it will have been ages since you've had a soda, and you'll have one,'ll spit it out and wonder how in the world did I ever drink this?? You'll be so used to water that you won't miss soda at all (I don't).

I'm glad you are designing/illustrating on a regular basis!

Same with your fitness. Of COURSE you should count climbing escalator stairs, running, walking, etc.! It all counts!! And good that you are staying within your calorie limits, but are you actually tracking and keeping count of your carbs, fats, and sodium as well? Hmmm???

We can never assume that we know what God has planned for us. Even if we think we know what WE want to do or plan for or think we should do, it may not be what is in store for us. But I do know that you need to hold on to faith, however you perceive it to be. Kobi Yamada says "Have Faith. What is meant to be will always find a way."
