I was on the treadmill .. and the front of my left shin was aching .. I remember that feeling from wearing high heels in my younger days ... I learned today after looking it up that its called shin splints and its from not stretching enough and doing too much before you are ready for it.
I admit I was doing too much too soon .. I tried to up my walking speed because I wasn't working up a sweat .. and lo and behold I was in a lot of pain ..so much so that I have been out of exercise commission since friday ..
I have learned in future . not to push myself too much and realize that my body has to climatise to the exercising after so many years of inactivity .. I am hoping the elliptical will give my shins a break ..at least I know I will be much slower at that and work up a sweat too : )
