Third shift... ugh!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Even after working third shift for over two years, I can honestly say I hate it. Sleeping at night is difficult enough, but trying to do it during the day is just about impossible.

But, I like paying my bills... and so, I keep showing up for work... Trying to figure a way out, but so far, in this economy, chances are rather limited.

Just havin one of those "feelin' like Eeyore" kind of days, I guess...

I will be working 3rd shift all of this coming week. I also have to work it a day here and there all year. I don't mind it too much but I am sure that is because I only have to do it now and then. The good thing is that while all of the day time madness and politics are going on, I am sound asleep.

I have worked 3rd shift for years. It has its good and bad points. You get to watch beautiful sunrises everyday and sunsets every night. The bosses are usually not around, they aren't getting up and working at 1AM, You can get your shopping done early. When you get off work and need to relax and unwind you can everyone is in school or at work. Bad points, hard to go out and have a nice evening because you have to go to work just when the evening is just starting. It is sometimes hard to sleep during the day, our bodies don't like it and people are always calling on the phone. Your body can adjusut but it isn't a shift for everyone. Hard when you have family.
