Six months later...a new me!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

It's been six months since I started the Ideal Protein diet. A lot has happened in that time. I started August 1, 2012, and it's hard to believe that the six month mark is right around the corner.

I have dropped 60 pounds, and I am wearing the size that was my original goal. I plan to lose more, but I am happy where I am right now. It feels so odd sometimes, I will be walking and my entire body feels different. Definitely lighter, and arranged differently, if that makes any sense!

My divorce was finalized in September, right after I started this journey. I have blossomed and lost weight and grown more confident since then. I have returned to school, I enjoy my job, I spend time with friends, and I travel. I love my life!

Working out has become a part of my routine. I was going every day, but have cut back to 3 days a week of strength training, and will increase it incrementally. I am still eating rather low in calories, so I don't want to jeopardize my muscle mass.

Traveling has been a joy. Not only are the airplane seats more roomy, but I actually can pull the strap on the seatbelt and have plenty left over! The tray comes down and doesn't press against my gut! I am going to France in a couple of weeks, and I am looking forward to exploring the city without getting tired! I am so blessed!

Losing this weight has been a life-changing experience for me. I will never go back!

    Way to go!

I travel several times a year, and I used to get two seats. The last time I travelled I squeezed into one, and I'm really looking forward to being more comfortable on an airplane and never having to ask for a seatbelt extender again! emoticon

WoW! Thanks for sharing your success story! I'm SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! It's an incredible achievement and sounds like only 1 of many positive changes! I want to travel to Paris, too, in the next year and want the joy of a roomy seat (right now I have to purchase an extra seat. ;-( and walking around the city without worry about my body limitations and not being able to walk very far. YOu are indeed an inspiration! Thanks again and I wish you continued success and JOY!!! - Bliss! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I still remember reading one of your first posts to the Ideal Protein Diet Sparkers forum and commenting on it to my husband.

In essence, I thought you didn't have a snowball's chance in an oven to make it through this diet without finding a way to accommodate vegetables. And you did it ! You found a way !

You are a true inspiration to anybody out there who stares at an incredibly ambitious weight-loss goal and wonders whether it can be achieved.

Congratulations! Enjoy the many positive changes in your life, and don't let the processed food industry snatch this victory from your fingers.
