Saying Goodbye to Mom

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Hello Spark Friends!

I wasn't going to blog about this; but, some of you have asked for updates on my Mom so here goes... I thank you for your follow-ups and asking how she was doing. Sadly, Mom passed away earlier this month. The past couple months were difficult for her and she was very ready to go. Knowing that helps a lot; but, it is still tough. I miss her a lot. I'm VERY thankful for her fabulous 88 years. I can tell you she was the best, strongest, kindest woman I ever met. I wish everyone could have a Mom like ours. We were all truly blessed to have been her children.

Following are just a few of my favorite pics to give you a glimpse of this fabulous woman that was my Mom.

My very fist pic with Mom:

With her sister and others (always smiling):

With my son when he completed Navy bootcamp and on his wedding day:

Mom and me last April:

I can feel your pain and I share it. Losing your Mother is a very difficult time. My wonderful Mother died in 2001 and it feels like yesterday. I wish you comfort and peace at this time. The close relationship you had together is a very special one. She will always live on in your heart and your memories. God bless.

I know you were very close to her, and how you looked forward to and enjoyed your weekly lunches together.     Your wonderful mother lives on...in you. That's the beauty of having fabulous people in our lives...we carry them along with us for the rest of our lives.

You'll miss her for a very long time and at times when you don't expect it, her memory will pop into your head and then tears will flood your eyes as you remember some wonderful moment the two of you had.

Thinking of you,
Sandi

So very sorry for your loss......... She had 88 years though, and sounds like she had a great life. I know my husband's mother lived to be 98, and she remarked many times about how all her friends and her immediate family was already gone. She missed them and said she did not fear or dread her passing over between this world and the next. I know they are both at peace. emoticon being sent to you and your family at this difficult time.

Thanks for sharing - it is very tough to lose a parent. I remember that when my father passed away and still many years later, I think of him. He visits me in my dreams and I am always remembering things that occurred between us. I hope memories of your MOM are good ones and that they bring you comfort.

Wishing you PEACE and much STRENGTH!

So sorry. I know how you feel. I lost my mother who was also 88 in July. That's why this trip to Vegas is bittersweet. This is my first time going without her in 15 years. The last trip was December 2011. She started getting dementia then and I didn't realize it. Just remember all the great times you had. emoticon
