"When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure."
– Peter Marshall
The last couple of weeks have been stressful, dealing with a now unfortunately former friend who has lost it. I recognize that a lot of negatives I have seen in my life are because I have not been dealing with the stress. But, when I saw the above quote, it reminded my that, if I can deal with this tough situation in a positive fashion, I will be the better person for it. Rather then my former friend who ended up losing everything, not just material wealth but decades long friendships, because he handled stress in a very negative and destructive manner.
As said by Lee Iacocca, "in times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive." I have to remind myself that I cannot control what happened. So rather than let it stress me and control me negatively, I need to put into something positive, like taking care of myself.
