Weight - 258 lbs - change of 82 lbs total
Stomach - 47 inches - change of 2"
Waist - 42 inches - change of 2 "
Thigh - 26.5 inches - change of 1"
Arm - 14.5 inches - change of .5"
Neck - 16.5 inches - change of .5"

I am now down 82 lbs since I started Fit by 40 back on 08/12/12. This week I celebrated my 39th birthday. That means I have 1 year left to be Fit by 40!

This week also brought me buying new work clothes. I was able to buy XL (17-17 1/2) dress shirts and 40" pants. I also now have a pair of 38" blue jeans. Up until this point I have still been wearing the 18-18 1/2" shirts and 46" pants from the beginning of my weight loss journey. Wearing clothes that fit and are more flattering are a huge mood and confidence boost!

I have found that my cravings, while still there, aren't near as severe as they have been in the past. I find that I don't often want to eat anything greasy or sickeningly sweet like I would have in the past. I actually look forward to eating better! In fact, I have found that I am more tolerant towards vegetables whereas in the past all I would eat was starchy veggies cooked to the consistency of mush!

I have pushed off the Couch to 5 k program for the time being. I found that I was shredding my knees and shins even with new shoes and running on the treadmill. While I still plan on doing the Warrior Dash in May, I think I may try to do more events in the way of cycling and hiking in the future over the adventure runs. I just have to get a decent bike again.

I have been staying with the tried and true cardio and circuit training, but have felt some pulling around my shoulder blades so I have eased off the back and shoulder exercises for a while. Starting this week I am adding an abs and obliques circuit in the morning, and staying with cardio and weights in the evenings. I have gotten to the point where you I could start seeing definition more if it was present, so I want to focus on these types of exercises. I am not looking to be built, but I would like an athletic physique when it is all said an done. Beach season is quickly approaching and we tentatively have plans for a beach trip in July. I would be excellent to want to go swimming without the use of a shirt to cover up my stomach. Now I just have to use that as a motivator to get things done.

    Way to go YOU! I wish I knew about Spark when I was younger. It's a lot harder with age - the skin loses its elasticity. And after so many years of being overweight and at jobs where I'd be on my feet for hours on end, I am dealing with arthritis in the knees and hip. Inside I still feel 20-something, but my joints tell me, "You're pushing 60, kiddo!" Still, I plan to be a healthier 60!
