FFF detox challenge

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I really wanted to go big for this challenge but I just couldn't get around to it. I've been tossing around doing a full on detox for awhile now especially cuz i just finished my round of antibiotics and those things are nasty to your system.

I admit that I get really confused about detoxing. There's so much information out there and strong supporters and strong opposers. There's people that say just eat more of a few certain things and then there's like $100 detox kits. I started looking into it through pinterest and there's a 7 day plan that I'd really like to do but it requires a bunch of prep so it's on hold. I think I'll wait till after my birthday next week.

So basically, all I did was be really careful not have anything processed. The only wheat I had for the day was my sprouted grain bread in the morning. And I had a nice big smoothie with chia seeds and spirulina which are supposed to be good natural detoxers and everything organic. I also tried to be conscious of drinking enough water throughout the day since I know that is one of my weaknesses. I put a glass of water next to my bed and drank it first thing in the morning and then kept drinking throughout the day, every time i thought about it. From my new water bottle that has a brita filter inside! Thats about it. I feel like I didn't put as much effort as I wanted to but it got me thinking and researching and planning which is really the overall point of the challenge I think and I definitely plan to do something more in depth really soon!

Good job! I am always intrigued by detoxes and cleanses too. I have a few picked, I just never get around to them! I also view anything that is a kit to be either a hoax , or a total rip off. I say do what you are doing, load up on the good fresh stuff, and give processed junk the boot!

Good for you! I'm definitely cautious when it comes to those kits, or doing anything crazy. I think you did great. Water is the best thing you can do to help flush out your system. emoticon

I agree on the over abundance of information out there. It is so confusing that I just stuck to lemon water and green tea. Let us know if you find a good one.
