Two Girls Facing Cancer

Saturday, January 26, 2013

Well I had to take a few days off and have been licking my wounds. But I realized I need to get back on track and "do my program" no matter what else was going on.

On Sunday, one of my daughters friends past away. They have been friends since the kids were about 10. They were best buds! We knew Miss M. was ill, she had colon cancer and she also is/was 36. It was a horrible slap not only for my daughter but for me too. Both girls dealing with cancer, so even in illness they were close! Lol

As some of you know our 36 year old daughter has lung cancer. You can go back a blog entry and catch up on that if you wish.

Today is Saturday and it has been almost a week since Miss M's death and its been three days since we received the diagnosis on our daughter.

Today she told her children. (God what a horrible thing to have to do.) My daughter has a great relationship with all her boys. Any way our daughter got through it and told her three boys in separate conversations. The ages of the boys are 18, 14 and 9. so they got slightly different chats. It went well and the boys have been great.

I have to be strong for our daughter no matter what she may need and then when the time comes that she can no longer care for her children they will come to us. Both my husband and I have to be in good shape and healthy to take that task on!!!

I have decided to do a blog about every week or so. I thank you for dropping by and for reading.

Oh my goodness! What difficult times. I'm so sorry to only just be finding out. I've been off Spark for quite some time, but was so encouraged to see you still on here.
I wish comfort and strength for you and your family as you go through this difficult time.

I just got and replied to your email, then came to your blog. I will be talking to my husband and so my best to get your daughter's prayer shawl sent out as soon as possible. I have a picture of it on my Sparkpage for friends to help pray over it, as I am sure God will also acknowledge cyberprayers emoticon

I am glad you are taking care of yourself. Please, don't hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do for you!
