So i realize that I am very sensitive to carbs... if I have pasta, potatoes, grains, etc, I tend to bloat. I also can't lose weight...even when counting the calories. There is some sensitivity I have. I am also addicted and sensitive to sugar... SO I am learning about Paleo, and trying it. I have done it for 4 days now....and I feel terrific! I have so much energy and am getting so much done, I can't believe it. I am really trying to decipher if I am tired, or just don't feel like doing something...and right now, it is the latter. I don't feel like studying, or working out, or practicing..etc... but that's just not a good enough excuse...because I NEED to do these things... It feels terrific to be eating better, and to be able to finally work out every day again. I am actually losing weight again, which thrills me!!
When it comes to low carb diets, I have to admit I really try to eat lean meats, and LOTS of veggies and allowed fruits... and not just overeat cheese and fatty things.
It is such simple changes though, for instance I made riced cauliflower tonight, and sauteed it in coconut oil with just a bit of salt and pepper. It was delicious, and so easy! I also made chicken breasts with a coating of ground almonds (so they were the consistency of flour) and coconut flakes. The recipe called for frying it in coconut oil...but to make it a bit less fattening I baked them. Even my picky husband liked it!
I find that i really do my best weight loss on some sort of structured diet. I can maintain a weight by watching what I eat, but when I want to drop pounds, which I feel like I am ready to do again, I need to do something structured.
