A few weeks ago I posted a "Secret of Sucess" on the weight loss board. I called it the Snowball Effect - basically, one healthy habit will lead to another and another. Son of a gun, if my snowball isn't still going! I drink my 8 cups of water nearly every day... which gives me energy to exercise... which makes me not want to eat much junk... which makes me want to eat even less junk... which makes food tracking super easy! We still have some Christmas candy sitting around (nothing that will go bad immediately - probably a good indication that I shouldn't eat it anyway). Yesterday I reached for a piece and realized, "but I don't think I really want this.... no, actually I'm not hungry for chocolate at all." And I didn't eat it. I NEVER turn down chocolate! I always felt it deserved to be its own food group. I'm down six pounds so far since the new year, well on my way to my goals, and my habits are in a good place. Still with room to grow, but off to a good, comfortable start. Yay!!!
