It's not about how many times you fall....It's about how many times you get up!

I mean my blog title quite literally....
In true Elizabeth style I fell during my first tennis practice- pretty dramatically and hilariously. And because of some combination of embarrassment and adrenaline I jumped back up, finished practicing, and never realizing how bad I was bleeding until I went to go take a shower.
Besides that minor mishap it was so exciting to be back on the court! I have not played since my sophomore year in high school when I played varsity. It was extremely gratifying to play against the super fit male tennis players and to be able to not only hold my own but to WIN. If only I could be graceful emoticon . But really.
Besides that, this has been a rough week food-wise! I have had so much temptation and events. Aren't the fun times the hardest?! The weekends... that is what is getting me! I will continue to tweak and work on trying to find a healthy balance between having fun and living the healthy life.
Despite that, I had a great weigh-in! One more lb down- 9 total in all!

I finally let my dear boyfriend in on my losing weight plan. He is happy that I am taking such good care of myself. This was a scary conversation to me. Anyone else REALLY hate talking to their SO about weight?! Mostly it is because he has such a great body and has never had the weight struggles that I have had (bless him, I'm so jealous!) I am attaching my most recent full body (well, half body) picture of him and I going out for New Years! This was probably about 14 lbs or so ago.

Hi! I just commented on your other blog and thought I'd peek how you're doing. Getting back up after falling is tough, but it sounds like you bounced right back...and to win on top of that?!

I give you credit for doing the weight loss journey in college. I did weight watchers in college but never made lifestyle changes to make the weight loss lasting. I would still drink more than I should have on the weekends or eat junk at the cafeteria in a stressed out frenzy. I am glad you shared goals with your boyfriend, it's so tough to lose weight if someone unintentionally derails you. If he's in on this, he will know not to order dessert after dinner or buy you another drink. Maybe he'll work out with you too if he lives near you. If not, try to find someone to hit the gym with if you haven't already, it can be good to have someone to drag you to the gym on the days you just don't want to go : )

    Good luck to you!
