Count Down to 0 Diet Coke

Saturday, January 26, 2013

Didn't realize how hard it would be to give up Diet Coke after 25+ years!!! 1st goal was 0 a day; resulted in headaches and grouchiness....changed goal to 2 Diet Cokes a Day, which has worked the first week, although I cheated two days and had 3. I know this is a caffeine addiction, but I also love the taste. If anyone has any ideas that would help with this goal, please comment and emoticon

The sweet and caffeine addiction goes away best if you wean yourself slowly. You have the right idea. Decrease slowly. Try making flavored waters or drinking flavored (but no sweeteners real or artificial) sparkling water for something special. Good luck! It will be a habit you'll be happy to not have! Plus, you'll save money! I used to be a Coca-Cola girl... the real thing because I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners. I used to drink about 2 a day. Haven't had one in more than 2 years now, I think. And I really don't miss it.

So glad I'm not sodas make you feel like your getting something sinfully sweet, but with all the additional crud it really isn't worth it. But after writing this blog, I had a diet coke emoticon

I am also working on this goal, but mine is Coke Zero. I quit buying it for the house, but still drink at least one 20 oz bottle every day while I am out, usually driving back from the gym. It has certainly helped on the amount I was drinking, but I am working towards only occasionally rather than daily.

Best wishes as you tackle this goal!

As I sip on my Diet Coke, I know I should give it up, it's my vice.
I travel a lot and 3 times have traveled for a month at a time where I could not get Diet Coke and I made it through....but as soon as I got back to the make that the plane home I always went back.
Good luck, I'm sure I will be joining you soon on this goal.
