I love eating cold cereal in the morning, but I've always found finding organic, healthy and tasty cereals to be a challenge. I did eventually settle on Nature Path's cereals, but they were expensive. Then, I decided to go raw. I thought I'd never eat cereal again.
That is until I was flipping through one of my new raw food recipe books, and I came across buckwheat crispies. They're easy to make, they're really tasty, and because I make the cereal, I know exactly what goes into them! My recipe book has only two recipes, a cinnamon version and a cacao version. However, after making the cinnamon buckwheat crispies, I decided that it will be easy enough to experiment with different flavors.
You only need to soak buckwheat for an hour before blending it with other ingredients like cinnamon, agave, and vanilla. Then you can spread it on your dehydrator trays.
I dehydrated mine over night, and when I got up in the morning, I broke it up into small pieces, flipped them over and dehydrated them a little more. This morning I had my very first cinnamon buckwheat crispies with a side of grapefruit.
