I considered this a stock up week, so I didn't really spend any more on groceries than I do during a stock up week. But the cart looked a lot different than it usually does.

I am known well by the produce staff at our WalMart. They were really happy to see me this week. On stock up weeks my cart is usually loaded with canned items on sale or frozen food I have coupons for. Sometimes it's meat. This week it was produce, deli, and bakery items. The deli and bakery are areas of the store I usually avoid.

Hard salami. That was a find. I cannot believe the way it smells. We had some for a snack yesterday. We're having some for lunch today. I have managed to stay out of the baked chips so far. We'll see how well I do after the bag is opened at lunch today. So far I haven't even thought about it.

Yes, I survived egg whites for breakfast. I added a tablespoon of fresh salsa. I didn't think that would break the calorie bank. I didn't mind eating them as much as I did the first time I made them. I doubt they will ever be top on my list of things I like to eat for breakfast. I have to admit I like oatmeal a lot more than I used to. I have become a big hot cereal fan.

    For some reason, oatmeal is a big calorie meal for me. If I have it for breakfast, I have to be very careful the rest of my day not to go over my ranges. Maybe having it causes me to want more carbs the rest of the day? Idk. I don't do egg whites either. If I did, I think I'd have to do only 1 white + 1 whole egg to eat it.
I wish there were a way to differentiate between "good" fats and carbs vs. "bad" ones. I mean, farm fresh eggs and nuts shouldn't have to be counted the same as a bowl of Great Value ice cream. lol.
Have you found a meal from SP that you absolutely adore yet? Seems I have to weed out the true gems from the typical diet foods that marathon trainers eat on their "light" days.
