Is there a muscle THERE?

Yesterday's training sesssion found muscles I didn't know I had. I will be totally honest with you and tell you that I hurt in places I have NEVER hurt before. Who knew? There are little muscles all over our bodies and I think many of them had been neglected because my fitness sessions were focused mainly on the large muscles uses in walking/cycling etc.

My legs are not that sore today as I have done a good job getting them in shape post TKR but my upper body. OWWW! The trainer said not to repeat the circuit for at least three days. It is important to let those muscles heal. Monday morning I will hit the gym and repeat the circuit training and until then I will be doing cardio only.

My treadmill is old (I bought it in 1996) so I think I'm going to ask for a new one for Valentine's Day as mine is so basic. Why not ask for exercise EQ instead of chocolates, roses and jewelry? Been there, done that, time to TREAT my body to health!

    I got a personal trainer also this week and I agree that we find muscles we did not know we had! emoticon

    I can do anything my trainer asks except for abs exercises. emoticon
    Those are really weak! That's probably why my back is so bad!

    Oh, that's the best kind of pain to have--sore muscles after a workout!!! Those little muscles are just as important as the big ones!! You'll keep working and those muscles will get stronger and then you'll find another group of muscles to work on!

    My plans are to eat heal and stay in range and get my 60 minutes of cardio. A nice Epsom salt bath sho help those aching muscles.

    I giggled a little when I saw your blog title. Similar to you, my legs are really strong but the rest of my muscles have been neglected. Last week, my trainer added a lot of upper body and the muscles surrounding my elbows hurt for three days! We should take it as evidence of our hard work. Great ideas about asking for fitness related Valentine, bday, etc. gifts.
