Late Night Randomness

Saturday, January 26, 2013

I've been pretty dang laid back lately. I know it will all kick back in when the time is right meaning I'm rested and ready to progress. Well tonight was the night. I officially have four sick kids, a funeral for a friend I'm going to have to miss tomorrow and so I had to get the grocery shopping done tonight. 14 year old DD needed a quick stop in at the mall because she had a dance tomorrow night. I.HATE.THE. MALL. Sideways glance in one of the many mirrors and yup, I'll be exercising tomorrow, I don't care who is sick!

Our oldest son lives in Virginia (Go Navy!) but is thinking of moving to D.C. next year when his time is up. I am happy to say he is partying just a tad less and starting to get serious emoticon

Our oldest daughter spoiled me recently with a designer handbag in the mail because she likes to remind me that I can still have some luxury. She works at Nordstrom in Santa Barbara where she lives and goes to school so even though I know she got a deal, it is deliciously embarrassing to carry this thing around emoticon

The two oldest are behaving for now so it makes taking care of little ones so much easier because we know just how fast time flies..............

We are losing 120.00 a month with the new taxes! I's not just me. I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid but food seems to keep going up in price too emoticon

I did buy some chia seeds in the bulk section to try out. I hear so many great things about them here on SP, so looking forward to trying.

I think that's it for now.......I was just so happy to catch a free moment. It's going to be a busy weekend with the sick kiddos emoticon

Oh, I love that you have an indulgence to carry around with you every day. A nice bag is a nice addition to everyday life. I don't indulge much on clothes and tend to spend much of my life in workout gear or casual clothes, but my husband and daughter picked out a gorgeous designer bag for me, for Christmas, and I feel a little gratitude everytime I see it (plus it is so much better constructed than a cheap bag, so that also makes me happy). How nice that your son knows the direction he is heading and doing what he needs to do, to get there. I am with you re: the mall, by the way. Not my favorite place, either, unless I am going there to see a movie. How cool that your daughter lives in Santa Barbara. Have you been able to visit there? It is so gorgeous. I would love to spend a little time there, really exploring that area. I am glad you are on the mend at your house, re nasty strep. Payton is scheduled to get a tonsillectomy in a few weeks. After hearing the doctor tell him about the need to lie around, and eat and drink his way to recovery, he said "Momma, I will be like King Henry VIII and you will be like my faithful, loyal servant!" I told him that would last for about 3 days and then I return to my status as Queen! emoticon

You know, you REALLY ought to try to be busy.
I'm thinking you don't have a laid back bone in your body there, SuperMom/Woman!
OMG I hear you about the expensive designer handbag. I went to San Francisco with a pal of mine a while back. We BOTH saw this Betsy Johnson bag that we drooled over at Nordstroms, then walked to Louis Vuitton (where I nearly fainted at the prices ... come on, GUARDS to protect the purses, give me a break). Later, my friend actually bought the Betsy Johnson bag and I was sort of crestfallen. Some months later she gifted it to me. I have NEVER carried it because ... because.. the leather is like butter and I'm afraid to set it down .... anywhere. So it sits in a lovely silken bag in the closet (cracking up). Insane, right? If I ever have a 'real' job, maybe I will carry it and try to look ... important... or ... wealthy ... or something!
Good luck with all your To Do's!
