BLC 21 challenge asks this question….
What a smart, beautiful, and thoughtful girl you are! You have no idea of the beauty inside yourself and the joy that will be your life. You have no concept of how much time you have before you, or how quickly it will speed by. You think your problems are earth-shattering but, when you look back, they will seem so small. You think your family is smothering you but you will soon wish they were around to do that. You are in such a hurry to grow up. You are so concerned about make-up and clothes and cars and boys and parties. You are so sure that you have all the answers. You are so proud.
If you only knew:
That getting an education may be hard but it is worth it and all that work will have a great pay off.
That it is okay to take some time to grow up.
That the coolest kids at your reunions will be all the geeks.
That taking care of yourself by being healthy really is worth it.
That all the love you give away comes back to you ten-fold.
That the car you now own should be taken care of and saved as it will be worth lots of money one day!
That the work you do should make you happy and then it won’t matter how much they pay you.
That real wine tastes much better than Ripple!
That no one will remember the silly things you do but they will remember how you make them feel.
That laughter makes pain go away.
That there is greatness in small things.
That girlfriends will comfort your sorrows and make life fun.
That you are important and deserving but that humbleness is a blessing.
That people you love may leave you physically but you will always have them in your memories.
Oh, and that you should go out today and buy 100 shares of stock of a company called IBM, and in ten years buy 100 shares of Pfizer, and then, when you first hear of companies named Microsoft and Apple, go out and buy as many shares as you can afford. If you do that, you won’t have to worry about saving any other money for the rest of your life!
