When I first started sparkLing, my husband was unemployed
and it was kinda hard for me to buy anything expensive. I did the best I had with what I already owned. I kept telling myself that it's not a fashion show and it's not a contest with anyone else -- I just need to work out. These clothes are those I had when I started with SP. Just leggings and T-shirts, really.
Even now, I don't have that much work out equipment and I still believe it's not a fashion show, but I've learned that some workout-specific gear really does help. Knowing what you're going to wear, and feeling comfortable in your clothes is a definite boost and many of the clothes on the market are targeted for specific parts of the body!
I also learned that these clothes can be VERY expensive! At the sports equipment store, some shirts run more than $70! I just can't fathom spending that kind of cash on a shirt; however, I do receive coupons from this same store AND I take advantage of their sales.
Also, I got 3 scarves for $4 at Old Navy over the holidays. I'm old school -- I was taught to keep my neck protected and warm when outside in the cold.
I also received several colorful and fashionable shirts from Old Navy for about $20 each, and they've got moisture wicking technology in them. When I sweat the moisture goes away from my body, so by the time I get home, I'm not dripping wet! WOWOWOWOW! Fancy!
Of course I wear my earphones when I'm outdoors -- the kind that go around your ears so they don't fall out. I usually only put one in and leave the other one out so I can hear what's going on around me. But I absolutely can't fathom running or walking outdoors without my Chicago house music!! I actually think it makes me walk faster!!
Next, I'll post more about the technology I use to track my steps and my walking path!!!
