Weekly Wrap Up and other random stuff

Bad weather has began here in my neck of the woods. My goal is to keep my family safe and warm. My hubby gets off early morning when the roads will be slick. Praying for safe travels for him.

The kids and I are enjoying an evening snuggling and watching a little PBS! My oldest made homemade cookies and I didn't over do it. Go me! I purposely didn't buy any processed goodies on my shopping trip today.

I have tracked consistently for three days and it has really helped me to get a hold on my eating. It is amazing how fast the calories can add up. I need to think of my eating like I would consider spending money. IF I eat all of those empty calories, will it be worth it? My daily calorie budget is like a checking account and I need to spend wisely. Each bite either takes me toward or away from my goals.

As far as my challenges on BLC and Peak 313, I can't say enough good things about them. The ladies that I am teamed up with have been amazing. I have been encouraged and motivated to meet goals and complete challenges.

I have been on point with my exercise and also the Bible reading. Things that I would like to work on next week are drinking more water and tracking my meals.

I am at the end of Week 7 of C25K. I am amazed at how I am progressing. I am still about 50 pounds over my desired weight but I am doing it. As I run, I think of how much easier it will be to move around when I am not dragging all of the excess pounds. With God's help I can and will reach my goals.

Our BLC21 weekend challenge is a BINGO game and I am excited. We have four days to complete a series of health promoting activities. I plan to black out my card and rock this challenge. It helps to have such a great team pushing me along the way.

One of the squares on my card poses this question: When you reach your fitness goal, how will you feel? I will feel even more empowered than I do right now. Empowered because I came to a point that being unhealthy was not worth it and I decided to do something about it. I have seven people depending on me and I need to be as healthy as possible to be there for them. I believe that this body is on loan to me so stewardship is important to me as well. I will feel energetic, sexy, and like a good example when I reach my goal. Not to mention that I will be wearing some really cute outfits.

    Great blog post. I admire the determination that you are showing. When I first joined Spark, I logged my food to see what I was actually taking in on a daily basis... WOW! I never knew how many calories I took in on a daily basis!! For me the tracking is one of the most important things that a person can do to help themselves in losing weight. It really opens the eyes.

  I saw you posted about doing a C25K program. I'm hoping to try it, AGAIN, with the goal of jogging a 5k on Mother's Day. I've tried a C25k program before, but have never stuck with it past a week or two. Keep up the good work! emoticon

  I like your thought about eating being like a budget. I am frugal with money yet I need to be frugal in my eating too ~making wise choices.

    Great! Love your enthusiasm and positive attitude. That is key. I really like the Peak313 challenge. I've been on track with Bible reading too. Fitness has been a little off the past week and a half because I was sick but I'm getting back into it. Happy to hear how you're making changes to be successful. Small changes over time adding up.
