Advice to my 16 year old self

Friday, January 25, 2013

Just a couple of things I wish I done differently when I was 16:

1. Listen to my Grandmother and slow down when I'm eating. I'm better now than I was then, but I would have probably not struggled as much with my weight if I had taken her advice as a teenager.

2. Don't let Dad get me so nervous when I'm driving. I would have had more freedom and jobs other than babysitting if I'd been able to drive on my own sooner.

In a current issue of one of my magazines, one of the articles is written by a woman who got a letter from herself from 10 years before. I just skimmed it, but I think it was some kind of school project. I'm looking forward to reading it in depth, because the concept of writing a letter to your future self sounds fascinating. But I guess hindsight is 20/20, right?

You will notice how we can look back and wonder why we didn't take the advice of our elders. We can apply that knowledge now, though.

I'm sure the most of us have things that we wish we had done differently at that age. We all live and learn.

One step, one day at a time..... emoticon
