Notes for my 16-year-old self

Friday, January 25, 2013

Karen, if you only knew what lay ahead for you, I know you would be much more confident! Know that God is walking with you every step of the way no matter what you do, and is ready for you to turn to Him for comfort, guidance, and security. You are healthy and at a good weight now, but the cigarettes and other bad choices have got to go! Find activities you enjoy that keep you moving, and be mindful of what you put in your mouth. Don't let Mom's legacy of a bad relationship with food be your legacy! Love yourself, respect your body, and give it the care that it needs. Oh -- and don't forget to wear sunscreen and sunglasses!
