Miss Molly's blanket

Friday, January 25, 2013

It is not all that fancy but just a basic purple blanket made from Minkee fabric on one side and flannel on the other. I sew it right sides together leaving an opening. Then clip corners and turn inside out and then stitch around the edge to strengthen it. Then I tie it about 8-10inches apart with embroide3ry floss and that kind of holds it in place. I do not use batting like you would in a quilt..these are so simple to make and are washable and the little ones just love it as the minkee fabric is soft and cuddly. I did find out while in the fabric department that minkee is considered fleece..and I got it on sale for 30%off and the flannel for 40% off so didn't cost that much.

Tomorrow is Miss Molly's party at a place called Jump City..Hubby and I are driving over early to attend a gun and knife show in the convention center..then we plan to eat out which will be a treat as we rarely eat out anymore..I'm feeling a Reuben sandwich crave..

I went way over my calorie count today..I ate a whole avocado with my dinner today..know now why I don't keep them in the house. I know they are a good food for you to eat but not when you eat a complete meal..maybe if I substituted it for my meal and ate just it instead. o well one day one be too bad..tomorrow will probably go over too eating a Reuben..but we rarely eat out so will justify that one.

Only got 15 minutes walk in too today..colder than it looked outside..and guess you could call bending over and stretching to tie Miss Molly's quilt could be considered gentle exercises...sure got my back twisted up..

Well tomorrow is another better day.
