After lots of observation, I think my body takes about a week to react to things. It was during the second week of being at the gym that I started to actually feel stronger and thinner, and the scale started going down. Now about a week after last weekend's indulgences, the scale is creeping back up and my tummy is feeling fluffier. It's frustrating when I've upped my exercise minutes exponentially over what I did before (nearly nothing) and haven't changed my eating habits much but am not really seeing results. Oh well, I guess it hasn't even been a full month yet. But I'm so impatient! I want to be slim and toned and sexy RIGHT NOW. Unfortunately that's not how it works. I just need one good week, then another, and another. As long as the good choices outweigh the bad I know I will see results eventually. I'm actually pretty happy with my size/shape, except for the stupid abs. As in, lack of having any. A flat, toned tummy is my personal idea of the peak of fitness. Looking at my family members I sometimes doubt that's even physically possible given my genetics, but I will not give up! Also the color run 5k is closer every day, so I need to keep working on getting my running time faster and being able to maintain running for longer. It's been so nice lately, if we have a sunny day this weekend I might jog the trail by my house again. There are mile markers, I'm eagerly awaiting the day I pass the 3rd one, still running, with a smile on my face!
