Wait a week

After lots of observation, I think my body takes about a week to react to things. It was during the second week of being at the gym that I started to actually feel stronger and thinner, and the scale started going down. Now about a week after last weekend's indulgences, the scale is creeping back up and my tummy is feeling fluffier. It's frustrating when I've upped my exercise minutes exponentially over what I did before (nearly nothing) and haven't changed my eating habits much but am not really seeing results. Oh well, I guess it hasn't even been a full month yet. But I'm so impatient! I want to be slim and toned and sexy RIGHT NOW. Unfortunately that's not how it works. I just need one good week, then another, and another. As long as the good choices outweigh the bad I know I will see results eventually. I'm actually pretty happy with my size/shape, except for the stupid abs. As in, lack of having any. A flat, toned tummy is my personal idea of the peak of fitness. Looking at my family members I sometimes doubt that's even physically possible given my genetics, but I will not give up! Also the color run 5k is closer every day, so I need to keep working on getting my running time faster and being able to maintain running for longer. It's been so nice lately, if we have a sunny day this weekend I might jog the trail by my house again. There are mile markers, I'm eagerly awaiting the day I pass the 3rd one, still running, with a smile on my face!

    I did the Color Run last year and have signed up for the one this year in my area. It is a blast. It really is the happiest 5k. Don't be so hard on yourself. The scale is a picky beast. Some weeks it's your best friend and other weeks you'll be threatening to throw it out the window. I like to stick to the non-scale victories, like how pants fit or how I am not fitting into some medium shirts. Take the little victories you'll feel like the super woman you are.

  Unfortunely Exercise minus Healthly eating do not together. I wish so, for I have worked, worked, worked all week long.
You have to treat your self occsaionally so don't be too hard on yourself. Just keep pushing you will get there.

    You can do it!! Don't get discouraged... every day and week won't be perfect, but you WILL see results if you keep at it :)
