50 down, 50 to go...and 50 reasons to do it!

emoticon BYE BYEEEEEE 50LB!

Today I hit that amazing milestone of 50 pounds down from my highest. To celebrate it, I am giving myself 50 reasons to lose the last 50! Here they are, in no particular order, completely unplanned, off the top of my head:


1 better coordination

2 pants that don't fall down thanks to my spare tire

3 to be a healthy eating role model for my children

4 fitting, not squeezing, into a Lululemon running skirt

5 the pride that only comes from following through with your plans to the bitter end!

6 a better waist/hip ratio

7 no more CHUB RUB

8 Bras that dig less

9 feeling IN CONTROL

10 matching my family size-wise

11 high heeled shoes

12 mini skirts

13 greater flexibility and range of motion

14 bathing suit season

15 being a success

16 motivating others

17 taking up less space in this world

18 not dreading flying in an airplane

19 fitting into my wedding ring again

20 wearing said ring, on my wedding anniversary, at the size I was when I got married

21 my daughter not patterning herself after her obese mother (and if she ends up obese on her own we will figure it out!)

22 looking younger

23 not getting out of breath so easily

24 Victoria's Secret clothing

25 not worrying that every chest twinge is a heart attack waiting to begin

26 avoiding injury more easily in exercise

27 bike rides with the kids

28 roller coasters

29 skiing

30 diving boards

31 my son not asking me if other people's before people's before pictures are pictures of me

32 lifting heavy things

33 speaking my mind (I do that less when I am overweight)

34 not being the fat friend anymore

35 no more "what happened to you" questions (referring to pre-kids)

36 buying clothes to wear, not just to tide me over until I've lost the weight

37 eating to fuel my body, not to salve my nerves

39 shorts

40 tank tops

41 tummy tucks

42 summer dresses without loud prints

43 not having to choose from three stores only when I need new clothes

44 never, ever again being the fat bridesmaid

45 feeling like my outsides look as good as my insides

46 not feeling conspicuous when I eat in a fast food restaurant

47 lay down tanning beds

48 horseback riding

49 ziplining

50 being IN THE PICTURE. When my children are grown they WILL have pictures of their childhood that include their mom!

    I LOVE numbers 16 and 21!! Congrats on such a HUGE achievement! I don't know you but I am proud of you! With a list like this, those last 50 don't stand a chance! emoticon
