Oh no! It happened, it snowed! I have this habit of peeping out the window every morning right now to see if the prediction was correct or not. Today they were again correct, well a bit. It was colder than they had predicted.
It snowed about 1/2 an inch. (I know I'm a whiner...haha) It was cold enough though that they closed all the schools and even the colleges! Up North they don't close colleges- I remember many days trying to drive to classes and taking hours because of the conditions. If snow is predicted here, people close everything down (except hubby's work). Let me explain I don't mind a few days of cold weather it's just really hard when our house can't get above 66F. Makes things unpleasant and UN-motivating. We'll get through it though... and maybe I'll feel my fingers once again in a few days. haha
Exercise: I did in fact again get out with the furry baby and take her on a short 1/2 mile walk. She didn't care much for it though and I had to carry her part of the way home. Additionally I couldn't stand it any longer as the sunshine was streaming through the windows and I went outside for a run. I ran 1.2 miles in 17F. It was like a game of frogger (anyone remember that game?). I was changing pace depending on the ice and snow on the road so it was more of a speed training than anything else. I did 1.2 in 12 minutes so that I was really proud. I'm not sure if I will run in that cold of weather again though unless I have a face mask.
Additionally in the morning when it was about 10F, I did 1 hour of snow shoveling by hand. It was a good workout. I've always enjoyed shoveling, just not thick heavy snow. Today we had little humidity in the air since it was so cold that the snow was light and fluffy. I've been so cooped up lately that I even though about doing the neighbors but I wasn't sure if that would be okay. Is that an okay thing to do?
Food: Today I actually did a lot better and I felt better for doing it. I love eating healthy greens and fresh fruit. This week was a little bit harder though since our grocery didn't have much available. We went on a Saturday afternoon which I'm guessing was a bad thing? There were signs in the produce section this time stating that there was limited amounts of fresh produce seeing that California was having colder weather than normal and thus produce wasn't growing properly. True? But that's okay because we have actually needed more hearty meals considering the cooler temps. Today I had no snacks until bedtime which was some dark chocolate - 70% I think it was...
Breakfast: Again I had a homemade cinnamon roll. Tired of seeing that? Well, you are in luck because they are gone! Yay!
Lunch: Leftover PPK Dilly Stew with Rosemary Dumplings (highly recommended to make)
Dinner: Homemade Tofu & Vegetable Pot Pie (so easy to make)
