Well here it is Friday. I survived the girl's birthday party last weekend, and even managed to do the 8 Hour thing since Monday. OK, I cheated last night with some wine, but other than that I've been awesome.

I signed up for a weight loss challenge at work, and today was the first weigh-in. I was 198! That's "only" a 1% loss compared to two weeks ago, but I decided it was low enough that I could go ahead and order the FitBit (my goal for that was 199). So now that's done, yay!

And my husband and I just joined a gym. I have been enjoying my walks after work for the most part, but they were starting to get boring and I don't love being so exposed. I'm just an indoor kind of girl! And the weather is seriously too much of an excuse to skip a workout. For example, Wednesday I spent about a half hour talking myself out of walking, then another half hour talking myself INTO walking. So I was all set to go to the car and change my shoes, but I stepped outside and it was just a little too cold. Like, if I started walking quickly I would have warmed up and it would have been great but instead I was like no, too cold, not gonna do it.

So we met for lunch today and finally signed up. It's an Anytime Fitness, so it's basically classes or anything. But I just want machines and I like that it's low-key. And last night I packed my gym bag and it's in the car now so I will go there after work today. Which is pretty awesome because like, with that wine I had last night I really wasn't feeling up for a workout today. But now that we officially signed up I want to follow through. We won't be going at the same times, but I think it could be fun to challenge each other to the most check-ins on Foursquare. And it's nice that we put the money in because then we want to make the most out of the membership.

So I'm feeling pretty optimistic right now. I managed to lose weight after a pretty rough weekend (the slumber party) and I didn't exercise much this week. I now have more workout options and ways to keep myself motivated to pursue those options!

    It sounds like you are really pumped up. You can do it and planning ahead and putting the gym bag in the car helps. I keep mine in the car too. It does help to remind me to JUST DO IT. You can do it and I am sure you will be happier once it becomes a habit.
