The week, Zumba & Cara Cara oranges

Friday, January 25, 2013

This week wasn't the best for me. I had great intentions on my husbands birthday but threw caution to the wind and ate waaay to much. But it was good and it was just that day. I didn't get to the gym or to walk earlier this week - I was derailed by what I think now may have been a migraine. Which sent me to bed for a day and made me feel crappy the next day. Christmas stuff still ready to be boxed & stored (it's all "piled" in an area of the dining room), and I plan to do that tomorrow.

BUT, even though those few things happened, I tracked almost everything and stayed in range most of the time. Didn't completely lose my focus just "watched the squirrel" here and there.

Today is much different! I went to Zumba this morning and had a blast! For the evening classes, attendance is much higher so she usually class in the basketball court. But Friday mornings are usually a smaller group so it's in the "triangle dance room". Mirrors all around, bars & even poles. (Nope, I haven't tried it). Today, she turned off the lights, turned on a black light & a disco ball we did Zumba like a dance party. It was a blast!! Best part? No one could really see you when you trip on your own feet or even when you jiggle & wiggle. :) She also told us before class that she is personally doing a Nike iPhone training app and that if we want to join her (just as friends, no class sign ups) 30 min prior to Fri am class, we could do it all together. I think I will!

Had to stop at the store for some fruit and a prescription on my way home and right at the entrance was a display of Cara Cara oranges! My absolute favorite orange!!! I love love love oranges, but after my son was born, I can't eat them anymore. I have to avoid almost all citrus fruit as the acids cause me to break out with fever blisters/cold sores. Which stinks. Literally, I ate 3-4 oranges a day when I was pregnant. I learned a few years ago that Cara Cara's are very low in acid (lowest I think) so I gave them a try. If I eat them every other day I have no issues! Woot-woot! (Even a slice of a regular can cause me problems. Boo.) So, I stocked up on oranges this morning and am a happy girl today.

Tracked my lunch, about to plan dinner and head out for shopping before school pick up & hockey practice takes over the evening. Feeling good and it all started with Zumba today. Even though the week didn't go as well as I had planned, I am still ahead of the game because I choose to be. Hope you all have a great Friday!

Not familiar with Cara Cara oranges, will look for them. Try Aqua Zumba, if you can, so much fun!
