Message to 16 year old me

Friday, January 25, 2013

Dear 16 yr old Sherree,

I was going through some old pictures and saw one of you. Wow! You are so thin! You have always thought that you were fat. You looked at all your Pom Pom Girl friends who were super skinny and wished you looked like that. Let me tell you something. Most of those girls are now overweight. Don't stop being active. You love to run and ride your bike. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. Yes, they can taste good. You are a beautiful young lady and I love you!

I think we spend to many of our teen years worrying about the outside and enjoying our wonderful youth.

Good blog!

I couldn't agree more. I was never thin, but I remember being so unhappy about my weight and now I think "what was I worrying about." It's a great message!

Great blog! My mom and I were looking at pictures a while back and realized the same thing you write here -- we felt fat, even though the pictures now tell us we weren't. Why couldn't we tell that when looking in the mirror at the time? Why do we always feel there is something about us that still needs "fixed." If we only had the answers.
