Dear 16 Year Old Me

Friday, January 25, 2013

Dear Chelle:

There are so many things I would like to tell you. I would love to give you all the secrets and lessons that I learned in the last 21 years but I won't do that to you because I don't want you to change one moment because it would forever alter who you are and what you've become.

So this is what I will tell you....

Life is hard and you will probably learn that many times over, but it's all right because you will survive even when you think you can't take one more breath or shed one more tear.

Life isn't always fun but you will smile in the dark and laugh in the light.

You will be just fine in the end and one day you will look in the mirror and you will know that all the good and all the bad and all the hard was meant to be because you will like the girl facing you.

Signed Chelle

******* I could warn myself to eat right and exercise but if I had known everything at 16 I wouldn't be who I am today********

I could say don't marry him, but then I wouldn't have my girl

I could say do this or that but then I would have done this or that

emoticon You are so right! I can definitely relate about the fitness angle. Life today would not be the same if I would NOT have learned the lessons I learned from getting HEAVY, unhealthy, and then had to fight to get healthy & fit again. If would have always been exactly as I am today, I would be sooooo different. That sounded screwy, didn't it? LOL

Ah, so true, if we changed the past to make it easier what lessons would we have to pass on to our children?

I love that when you look in the mirror you like the girl facing you! So many people hate themselves and that's very sad when they do.

Great blog!

Such a shame we cannot actually do this. SO much I would tell me. Like,

"Dude, lighten up. Have some fun."

and

"See your sister's best friend? Yeah her. Don't be so shy about asking her out, she's as interested in you as you are in her."

And we are still here, celebrating 40 years in June.
