1/25/13: Staying home today
Friday, January 25, 2013
My alarm woke me up at 8 to go to lecture. I just couldn't do it. I was tired and the pills were making me sick again, so I thought I would wait an hour to see if I felt better to go to my physics lecture. 9:40 popped around and my sister had to head off to her 10:00 class and told me to get up and go... and I was still feeling sick, so I told her no, and then she started being an unkind mother to me. "Oh, you're just going to lay in bed all day? Well I can't come back to pick you up so you have to go now. Come on." I told her no, I wasn't feeling well, "Well remember you can't miss quant unless you go see the campus nurse so you need to come."
No. The policy is he doesn't care why you miss class. It's exams and labs that you need to see the nurse for. I'm missing a lecture. Because I don't feel well. We have NO attendance policy for lecture. If you miss, you miss. You can come to him and talk about whatever you missed, get notes from a friend, etc, but he DOESN'T want us in class if we are sick.
Am I the only one who reads syllabi and course policies?
Anyway. Staying home is kinda nice, because I can just rest instead of running around and making myself feel even worse. Hopefully this will pass in a couple hours and I can be somewhat more productive... I'll do my homework or lab notebook upkeep in the mean time if I can't sleep. If I do feel better I am probably going to go over to Rob's after dinner as we haven't been able to spend time together since Sunday breakfast.
I've found that I am burning a lot LESS today than normal because I've just been laying around. It's 10:15 and BodyMedia has said I've burned 630 calories, and that is with my showering and getting dressed last night (it was past midnight). I guess this is offset by my inability to eat when I feel this awful. I don't personally care, because I'm not looking to lose weight much anymore, and it is kind of cool to see that yes, bodymedia can tell when I'm not active- which gives me more confidence in the high numbers I see on lab days.
I'm gonna try to go back to bed now.
