Sunday marks the 6th month since my new life began. 6 months ago I had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and the aortic root. Seems like so long ago. So what have I accomplished since the surgery.
1. I have lost over 50 Lbs(15 since I started tracking on SP)
2. My blood pressure is now controlled and at a good level.( with the help of meds)
3. My physical activity has increased and I try to get walking or cardio exercise in at least once a day.
4. I am eating a heart healthy diet and watching my sodium and cholesterol intake closely.
These are a few of the things that have changed in my life. I have been back to work for 4 months now and have been able to do my job fully and better than before. I no longer get short of breath by walking across the room or climbing stairs. The surgery took care of that, but also losing the weight helped with that also. I am enjoying life more fully now and participating more fully in activities that before I couldn't do because of my weight and shortness of breath. I feel great and wouldn't know I had surgery other than the reminder of the 10 inch scar down the middle of my chest. I love life. I love Spark People for helping me get to this point. But mostly I love my Lord and God who helped me to get better and to recover so fully after my surgery. Who also sent his Son Jesus to take on my sin so that I could have eternal life in Him. Thank You.
