I just did something naughty.

There was a thread, on the motivation forums. The title was "Lord today I am thankful for..."

It has over 9000 comments.

I couldn't help myself. I left a comment. Here it is...

"Lord today I am thankful for...being Agnostic."

Seriously, I couldn't help myself. It's like there's something wrong with my brain. Trolling the faithful so early in the morning? Truly, I must be bound for hell!

    Thanks for the laugh!

You realize that you might have unleashed a prayer chain to save your soul and to purify again the holly post. emoticon

A few years ago, I received an email from a SP member who, among other religious quotes for the Season, "blessed me" at the end. I replied that I am an atheist, and I'd prefer not to receive this kind of unsolicited email.
Her answer: "Well, I'll pray for you." **sigh**

Thanks everyone for stopping by! It's good to know that I'm not alone when it comes to having a messed up sense of humor and befuddlement when it comes to the faithful!

I worked at a catholic hospital, drove past the head nunn and my license plates on my car say,"DEVIL 66" She stopped and stared at me a long time.
Next, I went to the ATM on a Saturday, There were protesters lined up down the street. I could not see their picket sign till it was too late. The signs said,'Jesus saves" and various religious things. I had several of them approach my car offering me pamphlets. One of them looked at my plates. There were about 30 of them. They mumbled, turned their backs and moved away from my car like I was actually the devil. I first thought they were going to pull me from my car and beat me.
Funny thing is my plates are a referance to a comic book character,Daredevil.
Thought you might find that funny. You should join the sarcasm sparkteam. I like your style.

Oh man, I feel ya girlfriend. I work in a catholic hospital which is ironic since I am an atheist. We have to put up with everyone else and their freedom of religion but once you proclaim to be an atheist - OMG you are the anti-christ! You have no morals if you have no God...blah blah blah. I don't think so people. I get a little sick of having other peoples faiths thrown at me all the time but if I say I don't pray but I will send positive thoughts...that meets with a scowl. Why? How come the religions get all the freedom but the non-religious do not. It is a two-way street people. Just sayin' emoticon Love the blog. love the sarcasm. I think I love you! Ha Ha.

PS - it really irritates my neighbor when I don't collect my barrels right after trash pickup. I sheepishly admit to waiting until he grabs & drags them down my driveway in a huff ;)

You go right ahead and ignore me. On my page it says very clearly that you should only be my friend if you can handle my sarcasm.

If someone decided to pray over me, I would see it for what it is...bullying. I was raised in the Pentecostal church. So, I know why the faithful do such things, and it rarely has anything to do with kindness.

u are absolutely right, there IS a lot of that here on this site. In fact, I wrote a blog about how, in my opinion, too many Sparkers "let go, and let God," when they SHOULD be fighting, and working towards their goals.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest that people practice their faith...but I do have an issue if they are allowed to shout their faith from the rooftops, but I'm not allowed to proclaim my own beliefs without receiving scorn. (Right, Fran?)

Quickie story, I used to work with a nice guy who happened to be fond of the biker look. Wore Harley Davidson stuff all the time. He told me something that happened to him in college. One weekend, he was sleeping late recovering from a hangover. You didn't want to see him after a bender. He gets a knock on the door and it's the Jehovah's Witnesses. They ask him if he believes in Jesus Christ. He replies, "No, because I'm the anti-christ" and slams the door in their faces. End of story ?

Nope, later that day, a group held a prayer vigil under his window !!

Needless to say, after he told me that, I've always thought twice about leaving naughty notes or comments on religious threads.
