An Accomplishment and A New Experience

Accomplishment:
I finished the 4 week Official Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge here on SP and got my trophy. I do feel really good about my 2 weeks of cutting back especially on the artificial sweetener I was overusing, and then two weeks of abstinence from intense sweets, resetting my sweet threshold. I'm delighted that now I detect sweetness in almonds and bananas and things that didn't taste sweet to me before. Black coffee and plain tea taste okay to me now. I'm not sure my cravings have gone away, though. Seems like they've just changed. Now I'm craving salty crackers, but I know the more I resist, the more I'll be able to resist!

New Exercise Experience:
Today when I got to the Y, Gwen and I saw Cyndi water jogging. I had been threatening to join her one day, so I did!! We water jogged 50 minutes together - I think she'd already done 30 minutes or more before I got there. I have read in the Galloway running literature that water jogging is the only cross training you can do that actually improves your running form. So I was glad to have an experienced water jogger show me the ropes. To end my workout I swam 7 twenty five yard laps: 4 breaststroke, 2 backstroke, and 1 freestyle. It all felt great!!

    You are such a trooper and great sport! I enjoyed water jogging with you today. Someday, I envision us teaching Gwen to jog with us! LOL Have a wonderful, successful run tomorrow. Perhaps if you are up to it, I'll see you at the pool as I complete another jog! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I've always wanted to try water jogging/walking; unfortunately, no pool readily available. Way to go on trying something new -- that's so good for us!
