Woke up feeling really tired even though I went to bed early. I feel a bit sluggish right now so doing a few things on Sparkpeople to help wake me up.
I started doing my speed reading assignments yesterday to get my baseline reading speed and so far so good. I read 3 out of 5 assigned stories and my current reading speed is 807 words per minute which apparently is really good. In the class syllabus the instructor stated that the average college student should be able to read 300-500 words per minute and I'm well above those numbers which is good to know. The online website we are using for class is really simple and easy to use so I really like it. It also checks our retention of the information we read by giving a 8 question quiz after each story and I have an 87% retention which is awesome for speed readers. According to the instructor normal readers retain 80-100% but speed readers have a bit lower retention so I'm on pace.
Today I'll be finishing up the two stories I need to read and then I'll be making some homemade stew... I have a ton of onions, potatoes, carrots, and celery to use up. I have some left over stew from last time I made some so I'm going to combine the two to level out the over peppered first batch lol. This weekend I'll also be making homemade granola bars using a cup of trial mix (nuts, raisins, chocolate pieces, and sunflower seeds) and a cup of raisins. I've made them before but not with trial mix but it should be good.
