Well It's been too long sense I last blogged. How do I know this? I have good spark friends checking up on me. Oops! Thank you Spark Friends!
At last blog I had found a tri group that I liked. We had had our first meeting. I was super excited.
OK so I will say I am STILL SUPER excited! What has happened in the past 2 weeks? LOTS Too much to catch up on really.
My brother in-law is still fighting the fight. I think he may be here for Super bowl sunday! Super bowl has a big meaning in our family and it has little to do with who is playing or anything. (I may blog about that super bowl sunday)
We spent a week with him last week. My sister in law has a bad a** treadmill... I hate them. But it's what I could do to keep my base work out working. It has a 40% grade on it! WOWZA! I liked working out on it quite a bit.
We came home in time for our weekend fun. They go as this:
Saturday: 7:30 AM, Swim class, followed by a trip to costco (if needed). Food prep for the week, then a bike ride in the after noon.
Sunday is SKI day!
Now there is a lot to talk about with this past weekends activities and the weather. I'll try and keep it short.
Saturday morning we had freezing fog. Donut man, got up and drove me to swim practice so I wouldn't miss a second week in a row! LOVE THAT MAN!
The bike ride, it had warmed up and we got all of our 'cold weather gear on'. hit the trail Well parts of the trail was icy covered in frost. We kept going! Got 17 miles done! That was one concentration ride!
Sunday ski day, we treated my husbands younger brother and family to a ski day. There was lots of laughter and a great time. Donut man, his best friend and I all skied in the morning HARD!!!! (until the quads are screaming) then had lunch and spent the afternoon teaching them family to ski. It was a huge success!
NOW TO THE TRIATHLON STUFF!!
I had another meeting on Sunday this time for the triathlon training TEAM. I paid the $ to join the 'team'. It was a nice time we have about 35 people on the team. I would say about 1/3 women, and the rest men with a wide age range. My friend did join the team too.
The official training kick off started MONDAY 1/20!
I've been slowly building back up my base but I don't think quite to the level it needed to be for the kick off. Let's say I think I was right.
Monday I did a 4 mile run on my pre core.
Tuesday was a 1:15 (one hour 15 min) on the spin bike in the morning, with a 1:15 swim in the evening.
Wed was strength training day. (should of done track also but didn't)
Thursday was 1:00 on the spin bike, and 1:00 on the track.
Friday (today is a day of rest)
Saturday will be another swim/ bike ride
I'm so glad for today the day of rest!!!!!
Last night track work out was a called a 'bad a**" or a "Kick a**" work out. I didn't do the whole work out as I chose to spend some time with my friend who was just coming off of an injury and had to take it slow. It also was the first time running on a surface for me in about 2 months and I wanted to test the knee slowly. I'm told wed night track are more dived by ability. We are all going to give that a try this coming wed.
I want to do 2 or 3 club work outs a week as I think that it will help with getting friends and feeling the com moratory of being with a like minded people.
I like being on the team, I like having a plan to follow, I like pushing myself, I like having a goal! When it come to all that I'm very happy right now.
So there you have the 'short version' of what's been going on.
Oh and the weight.. yah well we are status quo, but I'm sure that's going to be changing soon!! for the better!!!!!
