Letter to my 16-year-old self.

I bet about now you are thinking you should have listened to your mom. She would often say "to you won't always be this thin." Do you remember how you used to walk everywhere you went? Yes, your best friend lived across town and your only means to get there was to walk. Remember how you would race walk to see if you could make it in less time? ahhh those were the days, weren't they. Of course you could eat anything you wanted, you were burning all the calories back off. And that nervous habit of yours of keeping your feet moving even when you were sitting in class. Those feet were always kicking! Don't you remember how people would put their hand on your leg to still it? ha ha If only you had known then that it was not a bad thing to always be moving, it was burning calories.
Of course, life goes on and responsibilities change. With maturity comes knowledge. You have learned so much about nutrition and exercise. Now the adult in you needs to take over and use that knowledge to improve your life. You have been blessed with a healthy body, it is your responsibility to take the best care of it that you can.
