Going DOWN!

Friday, January 25, 2013

I feel exulted today! My scale is on the move! :) This week I've lost 6lbs since Wednesday. I couldn't be happier. Talk about a journey. I've been working my tail off since November 29th of last year. Inches are great but pounds are so rewarding. As of today I've lost 50lbs since starting my weight loss journey started in spring of 2010! 3 years seems like a long time to lose 50lbs but it's off and not coming back! :D

So what lies ahead? 100 more pounds to go! How awesome and exciting to say I have 100lbs more to lose. At the same time how sad that I still have 100lbs to lose. Once again my philosophy of I can do this because I already have comes to fruition. There's a group I've been waiting to join on spark since I started this journey. If I can continue this weightloss pattern for another few days I'll be able to join the 50-99 pounds to lose group! So close!

Weight loss is amazing but fitness accomplishments are outstanding. Yesterday I sprinted faster than I have in a long time. I was pretty wiped since I've been sick with a head cold for a few days now. I didn't care, I was going to the gym. Yesterday was intervals. 5 min warm up, 3 min moderate, 2 min sprint as fast as you can, alternate 7 times, 5 min cool down. About sprint number 5 I had given everything I thought I had in me. I was dragging wasn't sure I was going to even finish and then Lady Gaga came on my music followed by Katy Perry's fireworks. How much more inspiration to finish it out could I need. Sprint 6 was my best yet. I hit 10.4 mph and I maintained it for 30 seconds, I maintained 10 mph for an additional 15 sec than couldn't keep it up and dropped to the 9's. But for a brief moment in time my body moved at 10.4 mph!!!! I couldn't be prouder of myself. I walked out of the gym knowing what I could do. Knowing my body is capable of so much more than I previously thought. Quite the change from when I went in feeling sick and exhausted! The only workout you regret is the one you don't do! How true!

Have you had any fitness milestones lately? Please share in the comments below!

I'm also contemplating making a vblog. It's a huge step in my sharing my story since I hate having my picture taken let alone being on video. We shall see how it goes. Does anyone recommend some editing software, preferably freeware.

See you on the upside!
